Introduction

The anteroinferior part of the hip bone or bony pelvis.

Structure

• it is composed of a body that articulates with the contralateral pubis at the pubic symphysis, & 2 rami
• the superior ramus enters into formation of the acetabulum with the ilium & the ischium
• the inferior ramus fuses with the ramus of the ischium to form the ischiopubic ramus.
