pisometacarpal ligament

Introduction

A strong fibrous band that attaches the pisiform bone to the base of the 5th metacarpal bone.

This ligament, together with the pisohamate ligament, forms the insertion of the flexor carpi ulnaris in which the pisform bone is like a sesamoid bone.
