Introduction

Muscle of anterior compartment of the leg.

Origin

• lateral condyle of the tibia
• upper 2/3 of the anterior margin of the fibula

Insertion

• by 4 tendons into dorsal surfaces of the proximal, middle & distal phalanges of the 2nd to 5th toes

Action

• extends lateral 4 toes, 2-5

Innervation

deep fibular nerve
