Introduction
Applicable to the aponeurotic sheets separating various muscles of the limbs & arms.
- Anterior & posterior crural intermuscular septa: pass from the deep surface of the crural fascia thereby attaching to the corresponding margins of the fibula.
- Lateral intermuscular septum: extends from the iliotibial tract to the lateral lip of the linea aspera & lateral supracondylar line of the femur.
- Transverse intermuscular septum: separate the muscles in the posterior compartment into superficial & deep.
