psoas fascia

Introduction

Covers the psoas major(psoas sheath) & is thickened superiorly to form the medial arcuate ligament. Inferior to the iliac crest, this fascia is continuous with the part of the iliac fascia covering the iliacus & also blends with the fascia covering the quadratus lumborum.

Fusion: laterally with the quadratus lumborum & thoracolumbar fascias.

Attachment

medially to the lumbar vertebrae & pelvic brim
