Efferents
- a fan-shaped mass of nerve fibers on the white matter of the cerebral cortex, composed of the radiating fibers of the lateral geniculate body of the thalamus projecting to the visual cortex (striate of calcarine cortex, area 17 of Brodman)
Course
- the fibers follow the retrolenticular & sublenticular limbs of the internal capsule into the corona radiata, but curve back along the lateral wall of the temporal & occipital horns of the lateral ventricle to the striate cortex on the medial surface & pole of the occipital lobe
