Structure
- 1 of 2 nuclei located in the cerebellum, interposed between the dentate nucleus & fastigial nucleus.
- also interposed between the dentate nucleus & fastigial nucleus is the globose nucleus.
- the emboliform nucleus is a small wedge-shaped nucleus in the central white matter of the cerebellum just internal to the hilus of the dentate nucleus.
Afferents
- axons of Purkinje cells from the intermediate area of the cerebellar cortex
Efferents
- projects fibers through the superior cerebellar peduncle (brachium conjunctivum)
