Introduction
lipoma with hematopoietic cells.
Epidemiology
- Most myelolipomas occur as unilateral adrenal masses however other sites are reported - pulmonary, mediastinal, retroperitoneal.
- mean age at diagnosis ~ 50 yrs
Microscopic pathology
- mature adipose tissue with scattered islands of hematopoietic cells
- necrosis, hemorrhage, cyst formation & calcification may be present
Clinical manifestations
most are asymptomatic
