Gaucher cell

Introduction

Large histiocyte with eccentric nucleus & fibrillar cytoplasm, wrinked resembling tissue paper. Demonstration of Gaucher cells in the bone marrow is suggestive of Gaucher's disease, but must be confirmed by assay for glucosylceramidase using leukocytes, fibroblasts or urine.
