Introduction
A component of certain plastics, paints & epoxy resins. Fumes or dust cause rhinitis & asthma if exposure is minor. Alveolar hemorrhage occurs with heavier exposure.
Pathology
- reacts spontaneously with respiratory proteins
- resultant haptenized protein elicit IgE-mediated sensitization
