Introduction
Tradenames: Duricef, Ultracef. 1st generation cephalosporin.
Indications
- bacterial infections due to susceptible organisms
- prophylaxis for bacterial endocarditis[2]
Dosage
1-2 g/day divided QD/BID. PO (oral)
Tabs: 500 1000 mg.
Children: 30 mg/kg/day divided BID.
Suspension: 125, 250, 500 mg/5 mL.
