Indications
- Addison's disease
- replacement therapy for adrenal insufficiency
- treatment of salt-losing forms of congenital adrenogenital syndrome
- orthostatic hypotension
Infants & children: 0.05-0.1 PO QD
Tabs: 0.1 mg.
Adverse effects
- most common (1-10%)
- hypertension, dizziness, edema, congestive heart failure, convulsions, headache, acne, rash, hypokalemic alkalosis, growth suppression, hyperglycemia, suppression of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, peptic ulcer, bruising, muscle weakness, cataracts
