Indications

• Trypanosoma brucei-rhodesiense
  • stage II (abnormal CSF) adjunctive with suramin

Dosage

30 mg/kg/day (max 2 g) IV every 5th day for 12 doses

Adverse effects

• encephalopathy
• fever
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• rash
• tinnitus
• ocular symptoms
