Indications

diagnostic aid in oral cholecystography

Dosage

• oral: 3 g
• give with the least amount of water possible

Capsules: 500 mg.

Adverse effects

• not common (1-10%)
  • headache, urticaria, rash, nausea/vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, bitter taste, dysuria, decreased urine output, thrombocytopenia, anaphylactoid reaction, severe sickness
• other
  • potent inhibitor of T4 -> T3 conversion

• drug adverse effects of contrast agents
