Introduction
Tradename: Eulexin.
Indications
- used in combination with LHRH agonist for treatment of metastatic prostate cancer
- hair growth restoration ?
Contraindications
- Pregnancy category X
- significant liver disease
Dosage
Capsule: 125 mg
Pharmacokinetics
- Not eliminated by hemodialysis
Monitor
- serum ALT & serum AST baseline, monthly for 4 months, then periodically (every 6 months)[2][3]; discontinue if serum AST or serum ALT > 3x upper limit of normal despite recheck
Adverse effects
- common (> 10%)
- less common (1-10%)
- anorexia, gynecomastia, numbness in extremities
- uncommon (< 1%)
