Introduction
Classification as antiarrhythmic group 1C by analogy.
Tradename: Tikosyn.
Prescribers must participate in the Tikosyn Education Distribution Program.
Pharmacy must be registered with Tikosyn in Pharmacy System (T.I.P.S.) program to stock or dispense Tikosyn.
Prescription must be stamped with the T.I.P.S. stamp, & initialed & dated by pharmacist.[3]

Dosage adjustment in renal failure
Pharmacokinetics
- metabolized in the liver by cyt P450 3A4
elimination via liver
Adverse effects
Drug interactions
- any drug that inhibits cyt P450 3A4 may increase levels of dofetilide
- any drug that induces cyt P450 3A4 may diminish levels of dofetilide
- agents listed in ref[1]
- cimetidine
- erythromycin
- ketoconazole
- selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI)
- trimethoprim
- verapamil
