Indications
Contraindications
- use caution in patients with
- narrow-angle glaucoma
- gastroparesis & diminished peristalsis
- obstructive uropathy
- severe hepatic insufficiency
Dosage
7.5-15 mg PO QD (no dose adjustment in the elderly)[4]
Adverse effects
- less drowsiness & dizziness than other anticholinergics
- constipation (14%)[4]
- xerostomia
- visual impairment
Mechanism of action
- muscarinic M3 receptor antagonist
- allegedly more selective for the muscarinc M3 receptor than other agents
