- tumors are generally large when found (macroadenoma)
Clinical manifestations
- manifestations of hyperthyroidism
Laboratory
- elevated serum free T4
- normal or high serum TSH
Radiology
- CT or MRI of hypothalamus & pituitary
Management
- trans-sphenoidal surgery
- treatment of choice
- rarely results in cure
- somatostatin analogs
- most patients respond to octreotide
- lanreotide
