Introduction

Proline-rich regions may serve as binding sites for SH3 (src-homology 3) domains. They may also serve as sites for phosphorylation by proline-directed protein kinases. Phosphorylation may alter the binding with SH3-domains.

The proline-rich regions may also contain a motif PPXXF which serves to bind the EVH1 domain of homer.
