Introduction
The human gene encodes a 46 kD protein described as a regulator of chromosome condensation.
Notes
- the pim1 gene in Saccharomyces pombe is a homolog of RCC1. The product of the yeast gene is a serine/threonine kinase implicated in coupling S -> M phase transition in the cell cycle. There is also a mammalian pim-1 gene which encodes a cytoplasmic serine/threonine kinase.
