Function
- inhibits plasmin by forming an irreversible complex with catalytic site
- prevents plasmin binding to fibrin & is itself bound to fibrin by Factor XIIIa
- major targets of this inhibitor are plasmin & trypsin, but it also inactivates chymotrypsin
