Function
- digestive enzyme, protease
- cleaves peptides at the carboxyl side of Tyr, Trp, Phe
- over time, chymotrypsin hydrolyzes other amide bonds,
- particulary those with leucine as the carboxyl donor
- formed after cleavage of zymogen chymotrypsinogen by trypsin
- cleaves C-terminal Phe, Trp, Tyr, Leu, Met
