Expression
- expressed in marginal zone B-cells, immunoblasts, tonsillar germinal center centrocytes & in the intraepithelial & interfollicular regions of the tonsil.
- isoforms 1, 3, 4 & 5 are expressed in lymph node, spleen, bone marrow, 7 small intestine with preponderance of isoform 3
Pathology
- expressed in many lymphoma cell lines
- expressed on hairy cell leukemia cells
- chromosomal duplication dup(1)(q21q32) involving FCRL5 is found in Burkitt lymphoma cell lines with 1q21 abnormalities
Laboratory
- may be useful markers of B-cell stages
