• expression in heart was higher in the right ventricle & right atrium than in the left ventricle & left atrium
• highest expression observed at the fetal stage
• expressed by smooth-muscle cells in the artery wall (PDGF-dependent)
• stimulated by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)
