Introduction
In dermatology:
- a macroscopic term referring to a discrete, pus-filled, raised area
Etiology
- pustules frequently arise from hair follicles & sweat glands
- pustules are associated with:
- acne
- furuncles
- variola
- bromide & iodide reactions
- bacterial infection & superinfections
Laboratory
Differential diagnosis
Management
- depends upon etiology
- antibiotics for bacterial infection
