Pathology
generalized cerebral cortical atrophy
- widened sulci/narrow gyri
- frontal & temporal lobes usually more severely affected
- enlarged ventricles, lateral ventricles most pronounced
- cerebral cortical atrophy occurs slower in elderly >= 80 years of age with preserved episodic memory[2]
