- dephosphorylates presqualene diphosphate into presqualene monophosphate
- indirectly involved in innate immunity (putative)
- pyrophosphatase activity with a substrate preference presqualene diphosphate > fructose diphastate > phosphatidic acid
- Optimum pH is 7-8
