Function
- assembly of F-actin structures, such as stress fibers
- depends on Rho-ROCK cascade for activity
- coordination of microtubules with actin fibers
- role in cell elongation
- self-associates via the FH2 domain
- binds to F-actin via N-terminus
- binds to the cytoplasmic domain of CD21 via C-terminus
- regulated by intramolecular binding to a C-terminal auto- inhibitory domain
- effector binding abolishes ihibitory interaction & activates the protein
Compartment
Expression
- ubiquitous
- highly expressed in spleen
