- HIV: 1 per 3.1 million units
- hepatitis C: 1 per 230,000 units
- CMV[4]
Risks for tissue donation is higher: about 1 per 42,000-55,000
Management
- CMV transmission:
- prevention: leukoreduction, CMV-negative donor
- treatment: ganciclovir or foscarnet[4]
