Function
- satiety factor closely associated with actions of leptin & neuropeptide Y
- anorectic peptide inhibiting both normal & starvation- induced feeding
- completely blocks feeding response induced by neuropeptide Y & regulated by leptin in the hypothalamus
- promotes neuronal development & survival
