RNA polymerases 1, 2, & 3 subunit RPABC1 (RNA polymerases 1, 2, & 3 subunit ABC1, RNA polymerase 2 23 kD subunit, RNA polymerase 2 subunit E, RNA polymerase 2 subunit 5, POLR2E, RPABC1, RPB25, RBP5, XAP4)

Function
- common component of RNA polymerases 1, 2 & 3
- in RNA polymerase 2, POLR2E is part of the lower jaw surrounding the central large cleft & thought to grab the incoming DNA template, seems to be the major component in this process (putative)
- subunit is present in 2-fold molar excess over other subunits
- interacts with RMP
- interacts with HBV protein
Structure
- N-terminus is blocked
- belongs to the archaeal rpoH/eukaryotic RPB5 RNA polymerase subunit family
