Introduction
Fluorescent dye used to label dCTP &/or dUMP in synthesis of cDNA by reverse transcriptase. The reverse transcriptase tends to stutter or slow when it encounters the dye.
Notes
Cy5 is excited by red light:
- diode laser 635 nm
- HeNe laser 633 nm
Peak excitation: 649 nm
Peak emission: 670 nm
Cy5-dCTP (Amersham #PA55021)
