complementary DNA (cDNA)

Introduction
A sequence of DNA complementary to an RNA molecule, synthesized using reverse transcriptase. The cDNA lack introns present in genomic DNA. Those transcribed from mRNA reflect amino acid sequence of proteins that are encoded by the mRNA.
