Principle
- assay tests for mutations in the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene in feces
- mutations in the APC gene are found in both familial & sporadic colorectal carcinoma
- sensitivity: 61% for adenocarcinoma, 50% for adenoma > 1 cm
- specificity: 100%
