Indications
- screening for HIV1 or HIV2 infection
Clinical significance
- screens for antibodies to HIV1 or HIV2
- not as sensitive as lab-based antigen/antibody assays, particularly in patients with acute infection[1]
- ~ 94% sensitivity relative to lab-based assays
