• has antioxidant activity
• is NOT associated with high density lipoprotein
• prevents LDL lipid peroxidation, reverses the oxidation of mildly oxidized LDL, & inhibits the ability of MM-LDL to induce monocyte chemotaxis glycosylated (putative)
