Saccharomyces cerevisiae IgG/AgA in serum

Indications

• Crohn's disease
• ulcerative colitis

Clinical significance

• 80% of patients with Crohn's disease are positive for either IgA or IgG against Saccharomyces cerevisiae antigens
• in ulcerative colitis, < 15% of patients are reactive for IgG & less than 2% reactive for IgA
• < 5% of healthy individuals are positive for with IgG or IgA against Saccharomyces cerevisiae antigens
