- increased central venous pressure
- decreased left ventricular filling pressure or left ventricular outflow obstruction
- hypotension

- supportive
- specific treatment of mechanical problems
- pericardiocentesis
- chest tube placement
- thrombolytic therapy
- massive pulmonary embolus
- valve thrombosis
- embolectomy
- cardiac surgery.
