Function
- cell proliferation
- maintenance of cell cycle progression
- poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase
- interacts with MYC
- phosphorylation by CDK2 stimulates PARP10
- phosphorylation through late-G1 to S phase, & from prometaphase to cytokinesis in nucleolar organizing regions
- phosphorylation is suppressed in growth-arrested cells
Structure
contains 1 PARP catalytic domain
Compartment
- nucleus, nucleolus, cytoplasm
- shuttles between nucleus & cytoplasm
- some concentrates in the nucleolus during late G1/S phase
Expression
- expressed in spleen, thymus > liver, kidney, pancreas, prostate, testis, ovary, intestine, leukocytes > heart, brain, placenta, lung, skeletal muscle, colon
