- apo B100 is involved in lipid transport & clearance
- ligand for the LDL receptor
- apo B100 is the major inhibitor of membrane binding & pore insertion activity of perforin
Structure
- recognition site for the LDL receptor is in the C-terminal portion of the protein
Expression
- hepatic synthesis of apoB100 is about 10 mg/kg/day
