Introduction
An external hordeolum (sty) is a bacterial infection of a sebaceous gland (glands of Zeis or Moll) in the eyelid.
Clinical manifestations
- Symptoms: pain, sensation of foreign body, lacrimation
- Signs: erythema, tenderness, induration, pustule
Management
- hot compresses
- incision & drainage
