Course

• passes between the pulmonary artery & the left atrium, then divides immediately into the left anterior descending & left circumflex arteries

Branches

• left anterior descending artery (LAD)
• left circumflex artery

Pathology

• 50% stenosis of the left main coronary artery is considered angiographically significant coronary artery disease.
