Introduction
Electrocardiographic (ECG) criteria:
- R > S in V1 & V2
- S > R in V5 & V6
- R in V1 > R in V5
- right axis > 110 degrees
- QRS < 112 msec (not right bundle branch block)
Other causes of R in V1:
- right bundle branch block - prolonged QRS
- posterior myocardial infarction
- generally occurs in association with inferior wall MI
- Q's in II, III, aVF from inferior wall MI
- Wolf Parkinson White (WPW) type A (accessory tract anterior to mitral valve)
