Etiology
- parkinsonism
- Parkinson's disease
- drug-induced tremor*
- vascular parkinsonism
* most drug-induced tremors are action tremors
Clinical manifestations
- most evident at rest
- attenuated or absent during voluntary actions
- tremor of parkinsonism
- alternating supination & pronation (pin rolling)
- may be asymmetric
- extremities generally affected
- head & neck generally spared
Management
- discontinue or decrease dose of offending medications
- Parkinson's disease: standard treatment protocol
