Eagle syndrome

Etiology

• compression of the carotid artery by an elongated styloid process or stylohyoid ligament calcification

Clinical manifestations

• sore throat
• earache
• neck pain on swallowing

Differential diagnosis

• clicking larynx
• triticeal cartilage
• hyoid bone syndrome

Management

• surgical excision
