Indications
- identification of visual field defects
- used in the definitive diagnosis of glaucoma
- identification of visual field defects due to stroke
Procedure
- assesses integrity of visual system
- white lights may be presented in various regions of the visual field
- kinetic red-target testing uses 5 mm red-topped pin
- limitations: time, patient cooperation, co-existing eye disease
Notes
- except for detection of homonymous hemianopia, visual field testing is fairly insensitive for detecting visual field defects[2]
