Introduction
Chronic inflammation of the liver involving the portal tracts & periportal parenchyma.
Etiology
Management
- chronic hepatitis B infection[2]
- lamivudine 100 mg PO QD
- well tolerated
- may reduce inflammation
- may retard progression to cirrhosis
- may reduce serum hepatitis B DNA levels
- therapy may be necessary for indefinite period
