Etiology

• jejunoileal bypass

Epidemiology

• occurs in 20% of patients with jejunoileal bypass

Clinical manifestations

• flu-like illness
  • fever
  • malaise
  • arthralgias
  • myalgias
• inflammatory papules & pustules on the extremities & upper trunk
• recurrent & episodic in nature

Management

• antibiotics
• reversal of the bypass
