Introduction

Punctate retinal infarcts seen on funduscopic examination.

They occur secondary to immune-mediated ischemic injury to vascular sheaths of nerves, especially in patients with diabetic retinopathy.

They do not produce symptoms or progress, thus no specific therapy is required.
