Introduction

One of several fibrous structure attaching an otherwise free structure to a fixed structure or structures, thus holding the free structure in place.

The suspensory ligaments include:

• suspensory ligament of esophagus (cricoesophageal tendon)
• suspensory ligament of eyeball

• suspensory ligament of testis
• suspensory ligament of thyroid gland
